Honor Magic 9 Goes Global Today: Price, Specs, Release Dates

04 Nov 2026

Honor is taking its latest flagships out of China. The Magic 9 series, on sale in China since September 28, 2026, begins its international rollout today, November 4, with a launch event in Hong Kong — the first stop outside its home market. The announcement came straight from Honor's global CMO Guan Haitao, who confirmed the date in a Weibo post on November 2.

This is the launch where Honor goes full cinema-geek: the headlining Magic 9 Pro Max is the first phone with dual 200MP cameras developed with ARRI, the German company behind actual Hollywood cinema cameras. If you thought the camera partnerships wars were over with Hasselblad and Leica, think again.

What Honor announced today

The Hong Kong event kicks off the global rollout of all three Magic 9 models. What we know so far, verified from Honor's announcement and press coverage:

  • Hong Kong, today (November 4) — first international market, with Hong Kong pricing expected at the event.
  • Europe — January 2027. Honor's own UK and French sites already point to a January window, and the UK store has a sign-up page promising an early-bird discount. No exact European date or pricing yet.
  • Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia — named by Honor as follow-up rollout regions. No country-level dates yet.
  • No US launch announced. The US is missing from every announced rollout plan so far.
  • International pricing is not out yet. Honor has confirmed nothing official outside China — the China prices below are your best guide until the Hong Kong numbers land.

One caveat worth flagging: Honor's European marketing imagery is currently showing only the Pro Max, so it is not confirmed whether all three models reach every market. What Europe does get is the Pro Max in all three colors (Shadow Black, Glacier Silver, Moss Green) — but only the 12GB RAM variants (12+256GB and 12+512GB); the 16GB and 1TB versions stay China-exclusive for now.

Magic 9 Pro Max: the specs

This is the phone Honor is building its global campaign around, and on paper it's one of the most complete flagships of the year — trading blows with the Xiaomi 18 Pro and the upcoming Motorola Signature 27 for the 2nm crown.

  • Display: 6.8-inch LTPO OLED, 1,320 x 2,868 px, 1-120Hz, 10,000 nits local peak brightness (isolated-spot HDR video figure; 2,000 nits full-screen), 1.5% reflectance anti-reflective coating, 4,320Hz PWM dimming, Dolby Vision.
  • Chip: Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 — 2nm, two prime cores at 5.01GHz. AnTuTu: 5,524,187, which Honor-flagging press notes beat the OnePlus 16's 5,384,433 on the same chip.
  • Main camera: 200MP, 1/1.28-inch sensor, f/1.57, OIS with "gimbal-style" stabilization rated CIPA 8.0.
  • Telephoto: 200MP periscope, 1/1.4-inch sensor, f/2.6, 3.5x optical zoom, up to 200x digital — also CIPA 8.0 stabilized.
  • Ultra-wide: 50MP f/2.0 with autofocus. Front: 55MP f/2.0 plus a 3D depth camera for face recognition.
  • Video: 4K up to 120fps, ARRI LogC3 recording, ARRI Wide Gamut 3 color space, and ARRI Looks — the cinema pipeline Honor built the whole marketing story around.
  • Battery: 8,800mAh silicon-carbon (40% silicon, 1,000Wh/L density — how it fits in an 8.59mm body), 100W wired charging with the charger in the box, 80W wireless, 27W wired reverse.
  • Everything else: 3D face recognition plus an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader, IP68/IP69/IP69K, metal unibody at 233g, MagicOS 11 on Android 17 with 7 years of OS updates, Wi-Fi 8 via update, and Honor's own H1 imaging chip backing the Snapdragon.
  • Accessories: optional G500 500mm teleconverter lens, a 200mm extender, and a full video kit (grip, remote, cage, cooler, filter mounts) — plus a Master Photographer bundle at CNY 10,999 (~$1,639).

The other two models

No "Magic 9 Pro" this generation — the lineup is Magic 9, Magic 9 Super Edition, and the Pro Max. The Magic 9 is the compact one: 6.37-inch display, 8,000mAh battery, last-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and the same dual-200MP ARRI camera setup — from CNY 4,999 (~$745). The Magic 9 Super Edition is the battery monster: 11,000mAh in an 8.1mm body with a built-in fan, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, from CNY 4,499 (~$671).

Price table: what it costs in China (USD)

These are the official China launch prices (September 28, 2026) converted to USD. Treat them as a guide, not a promise — international prices get set per region, and they usually run higher once taxes and duties land.

Model Config China price ~USD
Magic 9 Super Edition from 12+256GB CNY 4,499 ~$671
Magic 9 from 12+256GB CNY 4,999 ~$745
Magic 9 Pro Max 12+256GB CNY 6,499 ~$969
Magic 9 Pro Max 12+512GB CNY 6,999 ~$1,044
Magic 9 Pro Max 16+512GB CNY 7,499 ~$1,118
Magic 9 Pro Max 16+1TB CNY 8,499 ~$1,267

USD conversions use the rates reported by tech press at the China launch (~$0.149 per yuan); rates move daily. Prices last updated November 4, 2026.

For reference: European importers are already listing the Pro Max around €900-1,040 (reported by Gagadget — not official pricing). That is the going rate until Honor announces real numbers in Hong Kong and then Europe.

What this means for buyers

Three things to watch. First, the January 2027 European launch is timed for a direct clash with Samsung's Galaxy S27 series, expected January-February 2027 — the opening months of 2027 are going to be a heavyweight fight for the premium segment. Second, if you're importing early: press coverage notes that global variants sometimes ship with different battery capacities than the China models, so don't take the 8,800mAh figure as locked-in for international units until Honor confirms it. And third, for the HONOR X9e Pro crowd in the UAE — the Magic 9's global rollout includes the Middle East in Honor's announced regions, so local pricing is a matter of when, not if.

One more thing for US readers: there is no announced US launch. If you want one stateside, you're looking at importers and bands to check — and if you're buying any imported phone, run the IMEI before you pay (see factory unlocked vs carrier locked for why it matters, or do a free check at imei.ae).

Honor has not announced international pricing. In China it starts at CNY 6,499 (~$969) for 12+256GB and tops out at CNY 8,499 (~$1,267) for 16GB/1TB. Expect Hong Kong pricing at today's event and European prices closer to the January launch.

Not announced. The US is missing from all of Honor's stated rollout plans (Europe, Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia).
