Huawei Pura 90 Plus on Sale: Kirin 9025, From $825
Huawei Pura 90 Plus on Sale: Kirin 9025, From $825
Huawei's Pura 90 Plus is on sale in China today — October 31, 2026. The fourth member of the Pura 90 family sits between the Pura 90 and the Pura 90 Pro, and it's the first phone in the world to run Huawei's new Kirin 9025 chip. If you read our Pura 90 Plus pre-order piece from October 26, this is the follow-up we promised: launch confirmed, prices confirmed, full specs confirmed — and there's a launch-day discount worth knowing about.
Pura 90 Plus price in China (and the sale-day discount)
Huawei launched the Pura 90 Plus in China on October 28, 2026. Open sales start today, October 31, at 10:00 AM China time. Here are the official China prices, with approximate USD equivalents:
| Config | China price (CNY) | Approx. USD |
|---|---|---|
| 12GB RAM + 256GB | ¥5,499 | ~$825 |
| 12GB RAM + 512GB | ¥5,999 | ~$889 |
| 12GB RAM + 1TB | ¥6,999 | ~$1,050 |
The deal: Huawei is running a Double 11 promotion from October 28 through November 30 that takes up to ¥300 (~$44) off the retail price, per Huawei Central and NokiaMob. That drops the entry 256GB model to ¥5,199 (~$770) — a genuinely meaningful cut on a launch-week flagship. Early buyers in China get the discount automatically; it's not a coupon game.
One caveat, as always: these are China prices. Huawei has said nothing about a global or UAE launch, so there's no official price anywhere else yet. Importing one yourself is possible — just make sure you check the IMEI before you buy, the same way you would with any used or imported phone.
Kirin 9025: Huawei's first in-house flagship chip in a while
The headline spec is the chip. The Pura 90 Plus is the first smartphone powered by the Kirin 9025, an overhauled version of the Kirin 9020 that powered the Pura 80 series. Huawei claims roughly a 20% performance increase over the Kirin 9020 — treat that as a manufacturer claim for now, because no independent benchmarks have been published yet. Real-world testing will land in the next few weeks as units reach reviewers.
The chip is paired with 12GB of RAM and your choice of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage. It's worth noting the timing: this chip, this phone, and the sales date all landed in the same frantic week that gave us the OnePlus Ace 7 Pro, the iQOO Neo 12, and the Redmi K100 — all Chinese flagships, all landing within days of each other. The Pura 90 Plus is the only one of the four running Huawei's own silicon.
The camera: a 1-inch sensor with a moving aperture
This is a Pura phone, so the camera is the point. The rear setup:
- 50MP main — 1-inch-type sensor with OIS and a variable aperture. Huawei's own spec sheet lists the range as f/1.6 to f/4.0. One outlet (GSMArena) lists it as f/1.4–4.0; every other source, including the manufacturer's sheet, says f/1.6–f/4.0 — so f/1.6 is the figure we're going with. Either way, a physical moving aperture on a 1-inch sensor is rare air.
- 48MP telephoto — f/2.1, up to 4x optical zoom, and it doubles as a macro shooter.
- 40MP ultrawide — f/2.2, 13mm equivalent.
- 1.5MP Red Maple multispectral sensor — for colour accuracy, the XMAGE branding carries over.
The front camera is a 13MP sensor in a punch-hole cutout. Huawei's XMAGE imaging system does the processing, with the Celia voice assistant handling software duties on HarmonyOS 7.
Display, battery, and the design
The screen is a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED at 2,848 × 1,276 with an adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate, protected by second-generation Kunlun Glass. The Pura 90 Plus is the only Pura 90 model with a curved frame — GSMArena notes it mixes the Pura 80 Pro's rounded frame with the more expressive colourways of the Pura 90 series. The camera module keeps the signature triangular layout.
Colours: Sunset Purple, Dawn Gold, Snow White, and Obsidian Black.
Battery: 5,700mAh with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. Worth a correction note — one headline floating around claimed 6,800mAh; that figure is contradicted by the outlet's own body text and by every other source. 5,700mAh is the real number, and it's the same capacity as the Pura 80 Ultra's.
Also on board: IP68/IP69 ingress protection, two-way BeiDou satellite messaging (mainland China only), and a weight of around 220g.
How it compares to this week's other launches
Quick context, since your feed has been full of Chinese flagships this week:
- Redmi K100 — also on sale today in China: 10,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite, from ~$444. Bigger battery, much lower price, no camera ambition to speak of.
- OnePlus Ace 7 Pro — 9,000mAh, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 200MP + 50MP periscope, from ~$715. On sale November 3.
- iQOO Neo 12 — 9,000mAh, built-in cooling fan, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, from ~$660.
The Pura 90 Plus is the premium camera play of the bunch — the 1-inch variable-aperture sensor is something none of the others offer — but it also carries the highest starting price and the most limited availability. Kirin 9025 vs Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is the silicon storyline to watch; Huawei's 20% claim needs independent benchmarks before it means anything.
What we still don't know
- Global/UAE launch: nothing announced. Huawei has not confirmed any release outside China.
- Benchmarks: the Kirin 9025's real performance is untested. Wait for independent numbers before comparing it to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
- Price outside China: there is no official figure anywhere except CNY. The ~$825/$889/$1,050 conversions are approximate, not retail prices you can pay today.

The bottom line
The Pura 90 Plus is Huawei's camera-first answer to a week full of battery monsters. A 1-inch variable-aperture main camera, the debut of the Kirin 9025, and a ¥300 launch discount make it genuinely interesting — but it's China-only, the chip is unproven, and at ~$825 to start it plays in a tougher price bracket than this week's Chinese rivals. If you're in the UAE and tempted to import one, our IMEI check guide and safe-buying checklist apply to imported flagships just as much as used iPhones.
Last updated: October 31, 2026. Prices are China retail in CNY with approximate USD conversions at ~¥6.67/USD. Specs verified against GSMArena, Lockergnome (citing Huawei's spec sheet), TechPipino, Notebookcheck, and Huawei Central's launch coverage.
