OnePlus Ace 7 Pro China Launch: 9,000mAh, From $715

OnePlus just dropped its most extreme gaming phones yet. The OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro launched in China on October 29, 2026, and they read like a spec-sheet fever dream: a 9,000mAh battery, a built-in active cooling fan, a 185Hz AMOLED display, and a 200MP camera — all starting at just $655.

If you're into mobile gaming, this is the launch to watch. And if you're in the US, prepare for the bad news: it's China-only for now, and OnePlus has exited the US and European markets this year. Still, the Ace series usually previews what OnePlus brings to the world under a different name — so the specs here matter beyond China.

Here's everything that's confirmed, what the rumors say, and what it all means for buyers.

The party trick: a real fan inside your phone

Gaming phones with fans aren't new — RedMagic has been doing it for years — but seeing OnePlus put one in a mainstream Ace phone is a statement. The fan is built around OnePlus's "Storm Island" design: the air intake is incorporated right into the protruding camera module, with vents exhausting through the island rather than the side frame like RedMagic.

The Pro goes further with a dual-airflow design — two air intakes and two grilles for hot air. OnePlus says there are two airflow paths, one for the chipset and one for the rear panel, so hot air is directed away from your fingers during landscape gaming. The standard Ace 7's fan skips the bi-directional airflow, keeping it simpler (and cheaper).

Here's the wild part: despite a spinning fan inside, both phones carry four ingress protection ratings — IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K. That last one is the highest dust/water-jet rating you can get on a phone. If OnePlus sealed a fan phone that well, the engineering here is genuinely impressive.

185Hz display, 9,000mAh battery: the gaming trifecta

The 6.78-inch AMOLED runs at 1.5K resolution (2772×1272) with LTPO refresh from 1Hz to 165Hz, peaking at 185Hz in select games that support it. Peak brightness hits 2,000 nits, and OnePlus includes 3,840Hz PWM dimming — the same eye-friendly tech on its flagship OnePlus 16, per OnePlus's own teasers.

Then there's the battery: 9,000mAh, the largest OnePlus has ever shipped, with 100W SuperVOOC wired charging. For context, that's more than double the iPhone 17's battery and rivals the new iQOO Neo 12 (9,000mAh + fan, also launched this week) and the Redmi K100 (10,000mAh). October 2026 is officially the month China's gaming phones went all-in on battery.

Cameras: 200MP main, but the Pro skips the ultrawide

Both phones share a 200MP f/1.8 main camera with OIS — a flagship-tier sensor on a gaming phone. The Pro pairs it with a 50MP f/2.8 periscope telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom (up to 120x digital). The standard Ace 7 instead gets an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide.

Notice what's missing on the Pro: there's no ultrawide camera. Per GSMArena's launch coverage, that's a space trade-off — the dual-airflow fan needed the room. A bold choice: the Pro is a zoom phone, not a landscape phone. The selfie camera is 16MP f/2.4 on both.

Will the OnePlus Ace 7 come to the US?

Honestly? Probably not — and treat everything below as reported, not confirmed.

Two things worth knowing. First, some believe the vanilla Ace 7 will be rebadged as the OnePlus 16R outside China (GSMArena's launch report). That's the usual Ace-series playbook — China gets the Ace, the world gets it as an R model. But as GadgetHacks notes, OnePlus has not named, priced, or scheduled a 16R in any market — so the rebrand is still just informed speculation.

Second, and more importantly: OnePlus has exited the US and European markets this year, per reporting from Gizmochina. If that stands, even a rebadged 16R would have nowhere to launch in the West. Your only path to this hardware would be importing from China — which means no warranty, no carrier certification in the US, and potentially missing LTE/5G bands. Before importing any China-only phone, run an IMEI check and confirm band compatibility with your carrier.

Ace 7 vs the competition: China's gaming-phone war

The timing is no accident. In the same week, the iQOO Neo 12 launched with 9,000mAh and its own fan (from ~$660), and the Redmi K100 brought 10,000mAh (from ~$525). Add the OPPO Find X10 family from the same parent company, and October 2026 looks like China's performance-phone brands declaring an all-out spec war.

Where does the Ace 7 stand? Against the iQOO Neo 12, the Ace 7 Pro answers with a real periscope telephoto (iQOO has none) and 185Hz display (iQOO Neo 12 caps at 185Hz too, but only on the 2K panel at higher price). Against the Redmi K100, it's a pricier but more camera-serious option.
